5.2 Integrated Wasp Management for Environmental Health Officers

Intergrated Wasp Management Seminars

An invitation is extended to EHOs to attend a WaspBane seminar day on Integrated Wasp Management on a mutually convenient date.  Seminar dates are flexible and run almost weekly throughout the year depending on demand. Seminars are preferentially limited to six people per day to make them more informal. The seminars take place in Godmanchester, near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire. The typical itinerary for the training day is as follows;

9.15am Arrival
9.30am Understanding the wasp health hazard and conducting risk assessments.
11.15 Coffee/Tea Break
11.30 Understanding the Wasp
1.15 Lunch
1.30 Pitfalls of Orthodox wasp control
3.15 Coffee/Tea Break
3.30 Integrated Wasp Management and risk reduction
5.30 Closing Session

The seminars are intended to provide EHOs with a detailed understanding of wasps and their management to be able to conduct risk assessments and to advise clients on risk reduction best practice.

WaspBane supports the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is a contributor to the Environmental Health News journal and to CIEH training days.
